Using the palette knife and experimenting with oil and cold wax , I was able to change this piece of art into a more dynamic abstract. URBAN ENERGY   Warm Southwestern colors are used in this dramatic oil abstract on a wrapped canvas. This one will not fade out in your décor.   CACTUS DRAMA   A palette knife painting on a 24x24 wrapped canvas. Dramatizing the size of the cactus paddle for a more abstract look and using a lot of texture with the palette knife. Living here in Austin, Texas spring brings lovely blossoms from the Tunas. Various cactuses abound all over the Hill Country and many are used for yard landscaping. Mountain Memories Oil on 11 x 14 canvas done with my favorite tool, the palette knife.  Sanded and redid this painting today. The colors and focal point were off and the values are improved.
