  CACTUS DRAMA   A palette knife painting on a 24x24 wrapped canvas. Dramatizing the size of the cactus paddle for a more abstract look and using a lot of texture with the palette knife. Living here in Austin, Texas spring brings lovely blossoms from the Tunas. Various cactuses abound all over the Hill Country and many are used for yard landscaping. An oil and cold wax painting done with the pallet knife as it is one of my favorite tools.  Instead of an up and down piece of pottery I decided to cock the pottery to give it a more playful presence with very textured cactus and a colorful abstract background. I recently made it more dramatic with bolder colors as accents. 14 x 11 on canvas. www.sallyfraserfineart.com           sngfraser @gmail.com
